There was no post yesterday and very few submitted comments approved for publication throughout the day. My family and I were distracted dealing with the unexpected, but peaceful, death of a beloved family pet. Ginger appeared in a previous “Feel Good Friday” video and was the kindest, gentlest, most empathetic, sweet-natured animal I have ever met. My family has been exceedingly privileged to have been the caretakers of such a fine companion and we miss her very much.
To those few individuals who had the audacity to privately comment to me their presumptive suspicions of my engaging in nefarious reasons for not approving their comments in a timely fashion yesterday, I have relegated you to a fate worse than deletion of comment. I have added you to the blog’s spam filter. Deletion is for a moment but the spam filter is forever.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Our little furry ones have a way of becoming integral to our hearts and lives.
While I’m certain Ginger will be missed, I’m also certain that you gave her enough happiness on Earth to make her miss Earth while she’s in doggy heaven.
So sorry to hear about Ginger, it’s always tough to lose a member of the family. I remember her from the Snow Day video, she looked like she was having such a tremendous time out there.

Im so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is exactly like losing a family member because that’s what they become when they join your family. Lots of people dont understand that and that’s their loss. The loyal love of an animal is a beautiful thing to have.

I know when my rabbit died after 5 years (the poor thing battled an autoimmune disease), I was absolutely devastated. I couldn’t take it in for ages – I was 14 and people said often, “It’s only a rabbit”, and, true, I’d only had her four years, which is nothing compared to the life span of, say, a dog or cat. But it was so deeply distressing to me at the time and to hear people so heartlessly cast her aside as “just a rabbit” hurt me to my core.
Once again, Jeanne, I am so sorry for your loss and as for the idiots who judged you, there is an expression I love: Never assume. It makes an ass out of u and me.

Losing a beloved pet is so heartbreaking.
So very, very sorry for your loss. They leave such a hole in your life when they go – and they have so little time on earth yet this does not hamper them in the least from the joy of living. They teach us so much, both while they are here, and after they are gone. I hope you and your family can find comfort in that.

I really wish pets had a longer life-span….they are such special members of the family and do leave a hole when their gone. Their is a great Jimmy Stewart segment on a Johnny Carson Show where he reads a poem about his dog Beau. It’s on youtube if/when you feel up to watching – I cry good tears when I see it – Jimmy “got it” when it came to dogs!
