I think the ultimate purpose of a flash mob should be to try to recruit as many unsuspecting bystanders as possible. When you use well known music and dance sequences, the likelihood of success is greater as this video demonstrates.

Such fun to see practically everyone having a go. (I wouldn’t have known what to do for most of them.) But I was expecting it to end with YMCA!
YMCA would have been great too. When flash mobs are innocent, silly, and most of all short (this wouldn’t have been so cute if it went on for twenty minutes), I always enjoy seeing them.
You might like this improv troupe (http://improveverywhere.com/) which has been doing projects like this for a very long time and helped to popularize them on the internet (I am in no way affiliated with them, but I love watching their stuff! It’s never mean spirited or offensive — well, except for maybe no pants subway ride…).
Just listening to the music made me want to get in there and dance!
What about the Macarena? LOL!
So nice to see people doing something spontaneous and peaceful, having a good feeling all through and afterwards, sharing an experience with people they had never met before. A mob with a good purpose!
I still can’t figure out why this made me so happy, but it definitely turned my day around.
I wonder who was filming and how? The aerial shots are impressive. Hotel room balcony?
Not a one of those people can clap in rhythm. But this is still lovely, though.
Cute to see but also good to see that not everyone followed the heard mentality.
I want a village people flash mob!
Anne – I expect the music in the video wasn’t synced with what the mobbers were hearing at the time.
I recognised the Blue Danube, and that was it. I’m suddenly feeling my age!
