Great story of selflessness and doing the right thing. Many adults could learn from his example.

What an awesome kid! His parents are doing a great job!
The thing I love most about his attitude was he obvious wasn´t soing it just to be a good guy. He IS a good guy. XD
Ooo that reporter’s commentary is annoying, suggesting it was a ‘smooth move’ on the boy’s part, like he’s cunning and conniving. He wasn’t; he was kind hearted and genuine.
Maybe the reporter needs to drop the cynicism and learn a lesson.
Just wonderful
What’s so sweet is that it’s not a big gesture at all, but it just shows how well the parents taught the kid.
What gets me is that he wasn’t hesitant at all to give the younger child the ball. It was automatic. Oh, that we all would act thusly!
I think the “adult” who could have learned the most from this incredibly selfless, generous young man was the reporter. All he could talk about was the boy’s “haul” of freebies for his generous act. He really seemed to miss the point – like he was saying the words, but it was all the “stuff” he got later that made his act worthwhile. I think this young man would disagree.
What a sweetheart. 🙂
Lots of love to you kid 🙂
What a great story!
I remember when this story came out last summer. It was great to see a kid think of someone else besides himself. Too many parents teach their kids to get what they can, but this one has some great parents and has learned his lessons on how to treat others well!
I too think the reporter was being unfair. The boy didn’t know that he was going to get anything else. He did what he thought was the right thing to do without expecting anything in return.
This reporter needs to find another job if this is the best he can do. I am sure this young boy was not expecting to get “extras” if he gave the ball to another child, he was just trying to do what he thought was right, but the reporter made it sound like he traded the ball for the extras.
