That is so sweet! Normally I’m not into surprising people with pets, but obviously this was a situation where it was most welcome. As a dog lover, I was crying too !
I love new puppies, they are so squiggly, lol. And I love boxers. My brother and his wife have one. She’s deaf and responds to her hand signals better than some dogs respond to verbal commands. I hope the puppy in this video has a long happy life with that family.

Like everyone else, I will make the obligatory statement that giving a gift of an animal isn’t always the best idea. However, I think it goes without saying that I think this man knew his wife pretty well 🙂 This sweet puppy looks like she has fallen into a wonderful, loving home. What a great video!!
Although it was heartwarming to watch, holidays are the worst times to introduce a dog, especially a puppy into a household. A few days after the tree and decorations are removed would have been better.
It’s sweet, looks like this dog was WANTED and an addition to the family was being looked for (the girl that checked the computer and found ‘boxer puppy’ in the browser suggestions). Otherwise a surprise like that is NOT a good thing.
I agree about holidays can be too stressful on a pet addition so a few weeks before or after is a much better time… but. This is great, the woman’s reactions are priceless.
I’ll venture out a little further and say that not only was this puppy wanted, but that the female head of household (the one who burst into tears of joy) had had a boxer before. My mom grew up with a boxer in the house and got another one when I was a teen. People who live with boxers are incredibly loyal to the breed. The guy who purchased the puppy knew exactly what the woman would want.
Dang. Now I want a puppy.
I with NotCinderell on Mom having had a boxer before. That sort of crying comes from having lost a pet and now having a new one. The father clearly had softened up on the idea of the puppy and went to some effort to surprise . Holiday/Surprise pets are not always a good thing, but it looks as if the usual pitfalls will not be the case here.
According to comments on YouTube, the guy who made the video said his wife had been wanting a puppy for years after their previous boxer had passed on, but circumstances weren’t right for having another pooch until the time the video was made. Sounds responsible to me…and also adorable!
