2 Puzzled September 7, 2012 at 9:24 am: I actually saw this a few days ago. How amazing. The sanctuary that houses these elephants is a wonderful facility. It’s worth checking out their website.
3 Daisy September 7, 2012 at 9:41 am: “Free at last, free at last! Praise God Almighty, I’m free at last!” It’s not just people who yearn for the company of others like themselves. Elephants are intelligent animals who in their natural state live in family groups, with sisters, aunts, and nieces surrounding them, providing comfort, safety, and love. Sanctuaries like this give us at least a small chance to give back what we’ve taken away from others who share this planet with us.

I always wanted to visit the Elephant Sanctuary when I lived in TN, but alas, they don’t allow tourists.. they want the girls to be in as much of a natural environment as possible.
