I’m not crying. I’m not crying at all. Really.

I actually saw this a few days ago. How amazing. The sanctuary that houses these elephants is a wonderful facility. It’s worth checking out their website.

“Free at last, free at last! Praise God Almighty, I’m free at last!” It’s not just people who yearn for the company of others like themselves. Elephants are intelligent animals who in their natural state live in family groups, with sisters, aunts, and nieces surrounding them, providing comfort, safety, and love. Sanctuaries like this give us at least a small chance to give back what we’ve taken away from others who share this planet with us.

Everytime I see this story, I bawl like a baby. It’s just wonderful–thank you for sharing it.

You can’t help but smile and cry at the same time.. it’s an absolutely beautiful sight!
I always wanted to visit the Elephant Sanctuary when I lived in TN, but alas, they don’t allow tourists.. they want the girls to be in as much of a natural environment as possible. Jenny has passed away since this video was taken, but Tarra has taken her place as Shirley’s constant companion. You can visit them here: http://www.elephants.com/

I balled like a baby then read the article and actually sobbed. People should only get along with well and the world would be such a different place.
