Another chance to win a book! This is an out of print, used book from my personal bookshelf. From the back cover:
“Civilized Assertiveness gives you the words to stand up for yourself while still being respectful of others.”
Learn six ways to say NO
Confront conflict and uncomfortable situations
Ask for a raise and help at work
Deal with toxic competition at work
You don’t have to be pushy to get what you want!
It’s a great book as evidenced by the fact that the 2003 edition has held its value and the cheapest used book is about $16.00. The book contains situational dialogs to help the reader grasp the concept of polite assertiveness. Dr. Judith S. McClure is an educational psychologist, business consultant and communications expert.

Sounds like an all around useful book! Yes please!
I really need some advice in polite responses to rudeness. I encountered such person yesterday and didn’t know how to respond, so I missed my opportunity to stand up for myself and just kept quiet…so frustrating!
An interesting looking book. I particularly like the tag “backbone… not bite”, something to keep in mind…
