Perfect Storm

by admin on January 28, 2014

Last week was a “perfect storm” of illness, meetings, intermittent internet outages, and weather which resulted in both blogs not being updated or comments approved.   I’ve decided to take this week off as well to allow me to catch up (and we are getting more snow today).   Beginning next week, Ehell will start a series on bullying, and online bullying in particular.   This is a topic many people have asked me to address for the past six years.   This is timely given the recent news reporting of actress Tamera Mowry Housley’s tearful reaction to the online bullying she received because she married a white man.

I’m glad to hear from you, admin. I was beginning to worry. I hope you are feeling better soon, and that this latest round of weather doesn’t hit you too hard. I look forward to your bullying series, and I thank you very much for this blog and site. I miss it a lot when it’s quiet over here.

Looking forward to this series! As an educator, I am frightened by the amount of bullying that I see happening to my students…and among my colleagues, too. This is a topic that needs to be addressed and discussed!!

I hope things get better soon. With all the good work you do with this site, you’ve more than earned a break.

Thank you for helping me learn to say “no”–you and the EHellions have helped me immeasurably in growing my polite spine!

I’m interested in Tamera’s case. I’ve had friends who have experienced similar bullying and am curious about other’s thoughts/experiences. Please make a post on it. I wonder how common this is.

I was afraid there were illnesses and mishaps taking you away from your audience. Glad you are on the mend. As a teacher who has been studying the long-term effects of bullying on her students, I am looking forward to your series of posts next week.

It seems that bullying has taken on a new dimension with the advent of the Internet. And goodness knows that there’s ample material in just the responses to the Jan 16, 14 item on this website. Regards.

I’m so glad to hear that you’re addressing the problem of bullying, and online bullying in particular. This is a real and sadly very rampant problem, and it needs to be addressed. I’ve been affected by it, and so have very many others. I very much look forward to the upcoming posts regarding this problem.

@Jennifer–Yeah, there’s a spin-off blog called “Hell’s Bells,” and it’s about wedding planning and etiquette.
