DEFUNIAK SPRINGS – He was quiet. She wasn’t. He liked to hunt, while she loved her potted plants. She was 16 when they met in a skating rink. They eloped in a dump truck later that year. After 59 years of marriage, James and Lolie Brackin died Saturday morning only moments apart.

Absolutely beautiful.
My grandparents died two months apart, but they still had two teenaged kids at home when they died. GMa died first, and I imagine that GPa only stayed around to make sure his last two were cared for.
this made me all weepy, but my husband and i hope that this is how we go – old, with grand-children, and together. we can’t imagine living without each other.
Made me teary the moment I started to read….what a beautiful story!
This brought tears to my eyes. What a loving couple, we can all learn a lot about love from them.
I hope my husband and I have the happiness they had together. What a beautiful story.
Presuming this was not a murder-suicide … it’s very sweet!
