I would care. That goes for anyone that feels attached enough to this forum to leave a note.

Aw, thanks! I think I'm only thinking such things because I'm tired and cranky.

How about if we all pick a 'shovel buddy' on ehell?

You know, like your BF in real life who has to get rid of all your embarrassing stuff and 'entertainment' if you die.

From "Coupling":

Susan: Are you and Steve close?
Jeff: Close? We're porn buddies.
Susan: Is that some kind of prison lingo?

This sort of situation makes me very glad that I have some very close friends IRL from the boards. My parents would know to contact them if anything happened to me, and I expect that they would let everyone else know.

I think a memorial sticky would be a lovely way to remember people who are no longer with us.

I read somewhere that in your will or other important documents, it's advisable that you leave any log in details, forums, anything important online so they can be updated/informed when you pass and they can possibly shut things down or delete stuff for you. Or you can have an information sheet for online stuff that only a good and trusted friend will know where so they can handle it when the time comes. Sad but a good idea.

When I learned of Suze's passing, I actually thought about writing a note and putting it somewhere my family would look if I passed (like, say, my jewelry box) that says, "If I die, please go to the Etiquette Hell forums and let them know that Wonderflonium has died." I actually still might do that.

I did that back when behindbj disappeared.  Happily, she's back now, but the note's still in the jar behind my work station, along with passwords to other sites I frequent.  And I had the same doubts, so there's that   ;)
