tag template?
« on: December 30, 2006, 05:17:12 AM »

Hello Scritzy & other e-hellions,

On the old board there was a mention of a tag template for The Cindy Project, so we could send things for it w/o having to have all the scarves sent to Scritzy. Is the template still available?

I had committed to two scarves for The Cindy Project but i didn't come through with them. My reasons were ... well ...pretty lame considering how many people are much worse off than i am. My hands still don't function as well as i would like them to, and even if they did my crocheting ability produces hideous results. My crudely put together fleece scarves that i did actually make are still ruined

BUT

in the thrift store the other day i noticed that there are bunches of hand made scarves just hanging around waiting for someone to need them. Could i tag them up for The Cindy Project? They wouldn't be made with my own hands, but they looked like they were made by someone's hands with love.
If there is still a particular hospital or charity the Cindy scarves were going to i'd be happy to gather some up & send them there, or find one local to my area to donate to if that would work better.

The goal was 400, wasn't it?
and according to the last Cindy Project post i saw the count was 380.

There was a template mentioned at the oldest E'hell forum. I don't know if it can be accessed.

As far as the lack of response to your post, I'm guessing that everyone has been busy with getting back on track after the holidays?

That's the situation with me anyways.

Okay, here I am! :D Nothing inappropriate about the post.

If you want to get the thrift-store scarves and send them to me, that would be fine. I have another couple of boxes to send on to the Rehab Center, and I'll just add them to the bunch.

I would ask at the thrift store if the scarves are anything other than machine wash warm, tumble dry low. The clerks may not know, but it won't hurt to try.

If you don't have my address, PM me and I'll send it to you.

The latest count is 381, not counting the ones I haven't yet tagged. (Maybe I'll do that this week.)

I was going to wash them before tagging & sending them anywhere. I doubt the clerks will know, either; but i can try to tell, and if they unravel in the wash i'll either set them aside or repair them.

i still have your address. i had made 2 fleece scarves, but i had to put them through repeated washes & they fell right apart.
If you're ok with having more scarves sent to you i'll have some in the post.

I just got a great mental picture of you opening up your washer and finding skeins of tangled yarn … ;)

Thanks, Hobgoblinish, just send them on when you can. I'll hold off sending the others until your arrive so I can send a good-sized package.
