I was scared to death of Santa as a child, really anything in a costume would send me running from the room. My parents tried to take me to see Santa, but from the time I was 2 up until I was like 5 or 6 I was having none of Santa. He could come and leave me toys, but there was no way I was getting in his lap for anything!
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

Picture 7 Santa looks a lot more than hungover, he looks high, hungover, and like he's just realized he's in a Santa costume in the mall and can't figure out how he got there...

Frightening!

My mother has a 2 foot tall santa what holds candles. When you turn him on, the candles light up and he plays music and his head or belly or something moves...

When DS2 was a baby he HATED that Santa. He would NOT go intot he room if that santa was in there. Too funny.

He also hated the 2 ft Buddha statue my mom has. Something about little people (the figures, not the PEOPLE...) just terrified him. But it was adorable :-)

Just e-mailed that to my goddaughter's mother.  I have a picture of DGD like that.  It's on my bookshelf at work.

Makes think of the scary santa from A Christmas Story "HO HO HO!" said in angry nasty tone.
"POCKETS!"  From the new Dr. Who, "Runaway Bride" extra geek points if you laugh.

I felt sorry for most of those poor santas, several of them looked like they didn't know what to do. I don't believe I was ever a problem when taken for pictures when I was a young'n but I do remember one year that I was next in line and Santa had to excuse himself for a bit. I thought it was because I was a bad girl, but mom was laughing pretty hard, but made it clear it wasn't me. When I was older I found out it was because the toddler before me had a sudden bout of diarrhea on the poor guy's lap.

Speaking of Scary Santa Photos, I happen to have one of my own!  The first one is my dd's first visit to Santa when she was 18 months old.  The second one is when she was 4 years old.  What a difference a couple of years make, eh?

Also want to mention that yes, it's the same Santa in each picture!  In fact, we got the first four Santa photos of her life with the same Santa each time!  A few times we had to call the company he worked for and track him down, but we were lucky that he was always at a mall not too far for us to drive to.  Silly parents, aren't we?   :-*

No not silly -- I think that it is sweet that you did that.  He really looks like a Santa to me. No 400 pounds of fake beard.

One of the ladies that I work with took her grandkids to see Santa the other day, and what the kids didn't know (yet, they are still pretty little) is that Santa is their Grandpa.

She said that is is so fun to watch him interact with them because he really does "know when they are sleeping"  and you can see the awe in their faces in the pics.  They are going to have such wonderfull memories of Santa in later years.
