Can I see your Christmas Tree??
« on: December 30, 2006, 10:46:03 PM »
I LOOOOVE Christmas trees, and now that probably most of us who put them up have taken photos since Christmas has come and gone, can we do a thread where we share photos of our trees? I just love seeing the different ways people decorate them!

Here are mine, my mom and I do two, the colorful one is real (it looks cool with the lights off thats why i put two) and the white one is artificial.

So pretty!

I can't wait for the day I can really decorate. My youngest son is 7 and autistic and he won't leave new things alone. We had to fight him to leave the ornaments on the tree. He thought they were just a bunch of new toys. If you want to see our tree you can go to my profile on here and there is a link to my family blog.
I alson have pictures on there of the Christmas Market in Rothenburg o. d. Tauber. It's one of the oldest in Germany.

Gorgeous.  What I love about your trees is that they look like the old timey trees of my childhood.
Our tree for the past two years has been one that my daughter and I made out of one of those tapered wire frames you put around tomato plants.  We got some plastic greenery garlands, and wrapped the frame in it along with some more colorful garlands, then decorated it with stuff.  (I guess I couldn't find an artificial tree and I don't like to use real ones.  Makes me feel bad to count the rings after they are cut down.)  Ours is only about two feet tall and we put it on a bookcase.  I never thought to take a picture of it.
I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

Let's see if I can make this work!

Our tree was tall and skinny this year.  One day the lights would work, the next day they wouldn't.  On Christmas morning, thankfully, they were working.  Maybe Santa fixed them when he came to our house on Christmas Eve!   :P

pretty trees you have

Shoo - it sounds like you might have a loose bulb somewhere.  If you haven't taken your tree down yet you might want to check for this when you do.

I the tree is packed up, go stuff a note in the top of the box to check next year.

Also plug the lights in and wiggle the wire at the plug end - it also might be "mostly broken" and only working part time (which is a BIG fire hazzard)  (Guess what the last "employee safety film was?)

Here's our main tree in the living room (the extra dining room chairs are in there because we were having a party):

Here's our second tree in the front room office:

Here's our third tree, in the upstairs family room:

This is the "big" Tree in my living room - lots of Tigger ornaments and the rest is glass. Most of the lights are purple with a couple of strands of these cool flower lights I found at Target:

This is a close up of Angel Tigger. Most of the year, he sits naked on my dresser, but at Christmas he gets to put on a costume and top the tree:

This is a smaller tree on my bedside table:

There's a third, very simple tree in the dining room, and a tiny 8" one in the bathroom.

The trees are beautiful, but gee whiz, what lovely homes you have!

(Cathy, do I detect a bit of MN in your family room?)

Well, our tree this year was certainly not the grandest, and the lights don't show up in this photos.  But I love it anyway because my daughter was SO proud of it (she helped decorate!)

Oh wow, all your trees are just gorgeous.

I did a decorator tree this year but I don't have a digital camera, so I couldn't take a picture of it.  It was a skinny tree (new, because my old tree kicked the bucket) with purple bows, a gold bow on top, glittered pinecones, white lights and gold bead garland. It sparkled and looked really pretty.  I like sparkly things.
