My FI and I went to a Chinese restaurant today for take-out. We made our order and waitd aproximately 10-15 minutes for the food to be ready. Unfortunately we did not check the bag to make sure everything was there, so we didn't notice that an item was missing until we got home (about a 7 minute drive.) We didn't have the number to the place so we couldn't call ahead to let them know we were coming back. I said that if our food wasn't ready when we got there (i.e. they forgot to cook the food, not just they forgot to put it in the bag,) we should ask for them to re-cook our other food because by then our other food would have been out 35+ minutes and would have gotten cold. My fiance thought that this was rude, and that if some of the food was cold we could just re-heat it at home.
Luckily, the woman just took the food back without us asking and gave us all new hot food anyway plus some egg rolls which we had not originally ordered (they had given our chow mein to someone else so they did have to cook it and it ended up being about 10 minutes.)
So, would it have been rude to ask for all new food in this case?
