Cheesy Rider
« on: January 01, 2007, 05:51:12 PM »
We ran out to the grocery store today.  The adjacent drug store has New Year's Day sales and I wanted to stock up.  Pantene for $1.99 and I had several $1 off coupons! (But don't tell you-know-who)

Anyways, I was walking back to the truck and noticed someone had parked his motorcycle in the cart corral. (It was raining and the cart corral has a roof).   Couldn't wait to get home and tell you.

But wait!  As I was loading the groceries into the truck, a guy got out of a van (which then left) and came over and said "What's up?" or something innocuous like that.  I said "Can you believe someone parked in the cart corral?"  He said "It was me", like I was going to have a good laugh with him.  I said (nicely, sort of) "well, shame on you!" He said "Well, it was gonna get wet, what was I supposed to do?     I refrained from making a remark about the brand of his motorcycle, which is considered cheap trash by those who, well, help me here, ride Harleys.

He walked away and I finished what I was doing.   I noticed that the occupants of the van left trash in the lot.  It was raining and the trash was dry, so it had to have come from the van.

The kicker was, I was in the opposite direction of his stupid bike.  He wasn't just walking by, he came over to talk to me.  I didn't know it was his bike.  I was just amazed someone would do that.

But I did refrain from yelling out the truck window, about the brand of his bike.

Oh. My. GOODNESS.   Someone sure had a high opinion of himself, didn't he?

I really don't have words.  Well, I do, I just don't want to use them here!

*beating head on desk*

Granted, I'm a lightweight who won't get near the bike in the rain, but he couldn't come up w/ a better idea?

Yes, there are times you don't park your bike in a normal parking spot (visibility, "soft" asphalt in the summer, etc), but there are usually "out of the way" places to put them.

Why oh why do people indulge in such tacky behavior and then boast about it to strangers for no apparent reason?

Compound rudeness: first he parked in an inappropriate place designated for an entirely different purpose, then he went out of his way to boast about it to a complete stranger, then he (or his companions) littered the parking lot.

All in all, I hope he packs his sunscreen when he goes, because he's going to get toasty in eHell.

And if his "precious little bike" got scratched sitting in the cart corral, I am sure he would try to sue the store.

Because, after all, they should provide places for their "babies"
