Never anything traditional other than a dozen grapes at midnight for a dozen months of good luck, which we missed out on this year - my mom's worried about my grandma, and rightly so, as she was asleep and pretty out of it most of our visit today (and has been sicker than usual most of the week) - so she wasn't really in a party mood last night. She hasn't been in the holiday spirit at all this year, ANY holiday, and it just worries me.

Today we had something approximating lunch/dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, just my mom and I. We took advantage of a gift card my uncle and aunt gave me and my mom (who, we suspect, need some proper guidance as to who/what constitutes a social unit - I'm already being given spinster status! Geez, I'm barely into my 30s!) for Christmas.
We had such a big meal, though, that we weren't in the mood for cheesecake. Which is a pity, as I really, really wanted a slice of Pineapple Upside-down Cheesecake (yum! My 2 favorite desserts in one!) but by the time I was done with my glass of Fat Tire and my "Navajo" fry-bread sandwich I was full to bursting. And didn't really want to pony up for a to-go slice.
