Ingredients:
4 egg whites
4 egg yolks
1/2 c sugar
1 tbsp unflavored gelatin
1/4 c plus 2 tbsp ice-cold bourbon
1 c whole milk
Pre-baked pie crust
Whipped cream (or cream for whipping)
Chocolate
1. Soak 1/4 c bourbon in the unflavored gelatin
2. Scald milk (bring just to a boil.)
3. Lightly beat egg yolks and add to milk, along with gelatin and 2 tbsp bourbon
4. Let milk mixture cool
5. Beat egg whites stiff
6. Gently fold egg whites into cooled milk
7. Gently fold sugar into cooled milk
8. Pour into pre-baked pie crust and refrigerate
9. Before serving, melt chocolate in double-boiler
10. Top pie with whipped cream and drizzle chocolate over that
