On the scale of retaliatory rudeness, I don't think her response is terrible. It's rude, sure, but it could have been decidedly uglier.

Best not to play the age-guessing game. A fair bet is "I'm not sure, but you look fab/I love your top/whatever to just give a compliment and end this horrorshow".

I agree, what Ana did was retaliatory rudeness.

Reason:
As a man, the only safe response to that question is "21" if the woman looks around 50 to you. Maybe 29 if she looks to be 60+.

If anyone told me I looked 21, I'd find it terribly patronizing. But then, I never ask anyone to guess, so it's moot.
