Why no more signatures?

I noticed this morning my dragon egg hadn't increased in views, so I went to check that I'd put it in my signature properly.  After I spent several minutes wondering where the signature entry in the profile options had gone, I saw the tiny little "News" text stating "Sig files have been disabled until further notice."  I don't see any further information anywhere...can someone tell me why?  Thanks!  :)

I imagine it relates to the malware problems discussed in the thread below - it was mentioned as an option few days ago.
