Family Gifts

My cousin-in-law lives with his father (my husband's uncle). Is a family gift, like a bottle of wine for them both to enjoy, appropriate or should we get cousin and uncle separate gifts?

Unless they both enjoy the same wine, and it's expensive, or it's just a host gift, I'm going to say they should probably have their own gifts.

I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.
