I went to PetCo today. Several of the things I bought, were on sale to people who had a PetPals card, but I'd left mine in the car. So the cashier attempted to look it up on her computer. She couldn't find me, so I had to go to the car to get it. I apologized to the people behind me (there was only one person), and scooted out to the car and right back in.
The cashier called for assistance as she waited for me, so that the other customers coming in line before I got back, could check out at the next register. (I was literally in and out, but that was nice.)
When I got back, a lady was talking to the cashier about returning an item that had been bought for her fish tank (a castle or something). "May I exchange this? It was a gift." "No problem," says the cashier.
She then proceeded to ring me out, and the woman making the return came back to the cashier with a smaller version of the item she was returning. "Can I still exchange this? It's a little less expensive than the one I'm returning, and I'm sorry I don't have the receipt. It was a gift from my brother and he threw it away."
"Not a problem," says the cashier. "I'll be glad to take care of that for you." And she did! I was impressed...and thought of the nightmare return threads we've recently had here in E-Hell.
Then I thought I needed to post this one to show that there are still SOME retailers out there, who still take care of their customers!
I apologized again before leaving, for holding her line up by having to go to my car. "Oh not a problem, M'am. I wasn't that busy and it was no trouble. I'm glad I could help."
WOW! I'll be going back! (And will make sure my PetPals card is on me next time!)
