I have a sister who is a FB friend. Today I noticed a very out-of-character comment on a thread of a friend in common. It wasn't a terribly rude comment, but it was "off." Add to that, when I looked at my sister's wall there was no mention of this comment taking place, and there is always a list of comments made.

I'm afraid if I do say something, it might turn out she did make the comment, then she'll think I'm being the FB police. Advice?

How about a "Wow, Sis, that doesn't sound like you!"?

I'd go with something that didn't sound too judgemental, in case she did make the comment.  Maybe "Sis, I noticed a comment on FB in reply to Friend's post that didn't feel like your usual writing style.  I've heard of people getting their accounts hacked, so I wanted to give you a heads up.  If it was your post, please ignore this."

That's wordy, so I'm sure someone else will say it better...but if you attribute it to "not your usual style" it would come across as you being actually concerned, and not you trying to call her out on an "off" comment.

POD!  Definitely say something.  Not long ago, I was on FB and a chat message popped up from a former coworker that I hadn't talked to in awhile.  It basically said something to the effect of, "Hey Silverstreak!!  How are you?"  Then when I answered this crazy link popped up asking me to "Try this cool game I just found... blah blah blah"

THis is the point when I realized that it wasn't really my former coworker as she has said on her Status several times to please stop sending her game requests.  She doesn't play them.  So I immediately sent her a PM to let her know and as a side note mentioned that if it *Was* her then I was sorry for being nosy but it just didn't sound right.

I was correct and it was a hack.
