edited because I posted the wrong link.

The subject is in the Star-Ledger newspaper (Newark), also. Not much different than the web article or TV news, but it says that a number of news helicopters were flying all over the area, trying to find a house with a hole in the roof. The homeowners are not being identified to protect their privacy (and their property from being invaded by curiosity seekers).

Must have been a slow news day. This is the first recorded meteor strike in New Jersey for 175 years.

Secret:
Well these people have a story to tell for the next 75 years.  It hasn't been confirmed as a meterorite yet though?  Has it?

phred246:
It has not yet officially been declared a meteor (at least in the press), but they are positive it is not a piece of an airplane or Blue Ice. It does not have all of the typical characteristics of a meteor,  but enough for it to be highly likely.

yup, read it in the somerset county edition of the ledger.  I feel for the homeowners.  I can't believe news channels are sending out helicopters to find out who they are.   ::)  I guess no one is allowed to have privacy.
