A friend of mine died suddenly last spring.  She had a facebook page, and in the days following her death, many of her friends posted pictures on their own FB pages, and tagged her in them, which showed up on HER page, and allowed her friends and family members to view the pictures without compromising their own privacy settings.  I did it myself.

A lot of people also wrote notes on her wall, and they wrote on their own walls and tagged her in the notes so her family could read them.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.
