I had to get an A1C test the other day. I also have hiding veins, which basically means no matter how much water I drink, I will probably have to get blood drawn from my hand instead of my arm, and my hand will bruise. They wanted fasting levels, so that meant nothing to eat or drink after midnight. I foolishly assumed that meant no water. I only realized how bad this was going to be as I walked in the door.

...Except it wasn't. The tech had to pat around a lot, but she finally got an arm vein! And I was bracing for a lot of pain, but it barely even stung and was over in 2 minutes! I almost danced out of the lab.  :P

But how would someone buy a gift card for me without my account name, password, etc.?

You only need to have the recipients email.

My mom was in a car accident about 3 weeks ago. This week she found out the car is written off, but because it was only 4 months old she got full replacement value. Better yet she'll have the exact same model (new again) by the end of next week.

I just have to ask if you are sure you didn't apply for their visa card?  I know you get a discount like that if you do.

I have their visa card and I once paid $30,000 of uncovered medical expenses with it over a year.  (We pay it off each month so no interest.)  That was lots of free CDs.  LOVED it.

Bold above . . . good question. When I first signed on to Amazon they asked if I wanted their credit card. I thought I said "no" but a few weeks later I received one of their credit cards in the mail. I just tucked the card away thinking that I prefer using my own credit card.

But I'll take that as an explanation . . . maybe I didn't say "no" and the gift certificate came because I now have a credit card with them?

Hmmmm . . .

Good, only in the sense of our family has a nutty sense of humor about life.  We got a pair of CDs called Reggae Goes Country in the mail one day, an oddball mashup of of Reggae, and Country, and neither genres any single one of us would listen to.

Turns out, Amazon's system somehow glitched and sent us two CDs we never ordered.  They told us to just keep them. :)

However, it is kind of addicting, and we get a giggle out of playing it.  It's just nothing we ever expected in our wildest dreams. :P

There's also the time I had a voucher on my DAZ 3D account.  25 dollars, but I don't know how I got it.  I only learned about it when placing a small order, and seeing the balance listed.  Small happy happy dance, as it came out to five bucks on my end.

DAZ 3D is a site for hobbyist digital artists, I'm pretty sure I've seen a member here using their Dragon in the signature. :)

Every time I put on a jacket I haven't work in over a year and I find money in the pocket.  It makes me want to put another bill in there so they can mate and have baby monies.

Someone on eHell posted about this a while back and started a new habit for me: I put a $10 bill in my winter coat pocket when I put it away for the summer.  That way when it's fall and I'm grumbling about how cold it is outside and how much I'll miss the nice weather, I'll pull out my coat and be surprised to find an extra $10 :P

I love Bath & Body Works shower gel, and a few Saturdays ago, I stopped in because I was almost out.  They were having a sale on them: Buy 3 Get 3 free.  Then while I am picking out which ones I wanted, a sales associate handed me a coupon.  I was Customer #17 of the day, and the first 25 got some offer.  So now, I also get another (7th) shower gel, and some kind of body mist, and a tube of body moisturizer, and then some weird kind of discount I didn't understand (I had stopped asking by that point).  I finally staggered out of there having spent about $25 for stuff that I know will last me over a year to use completely up.
I have enough lithium in my medicine cabinet to power three cars across a sizeable desert.  Which makes me officially...Three Cars Crazy

Several years ago there was a story about an office frefrigerator that was holding two hams for holiday parties.  One day, a mysterious third ham appeared.  One poster had an excellent explanation.
'When two hams love each other very, very much...'

I suppose the same could be said about bank notes.

When I go on vacation, I take a lot of cash so I don't ever use my credit card. I'm nervous about traveling with lots of cash, so I hide it in all sorts of odd places so that (1) it's less likely to be found and stolen, and (2) if someone finds one stash and steals it, they don't get everything. I went on a vacation last fall and spent all my money, of course. ;) A few months after I got back, I was going to an event for my dog rescue. I didn't want to bring my purse, so I took my ID and some cash to put in a little pocket in my camera case. There was $60 in there! I'd hidden it for my trip, forgotten about it, and hadn't opened that pocket since.

I just had one of these!  My husband is in the military, so he has these military-issue t-shirts that are worn under the uniform.  Well, I was having the worst trouble keeping up with getting them washed in time.  He wears them for a couple of days each, and he said he had about 4, and yet it seemed like he was always asking if I had any more, and I didn't.  I was getting annoyed at myself... with 4 t-shirts and him wearing them several days each, was I seriously taking over a week to get laundry done?

Until I found a pile of my maternity clothes that had been set aside, and discovered that several of his t-shirts were in it!  He'd been alternating back and forth between 2, so it made a lot more sense that I'd been having trouble keeping up!
