Late in our trip through China, we were having lunch on a mezzanine floor of a large restaurant, when all of a sudden, two brides and grooms appeared in the restaurant downstairs and they held the weddings right there. I was fascinated, and watched for ages. I didn't understand a word of it, but the whole thing seemed much more like a game show than a wedding. One of the grooms seemed to pick up and carry around his mother-in-law at one stage, the celebrant seemed to tell a lot of jokes, given how much the guests were laughing, and the guests were served their meal and started eating while the wedding was in progress.
On the theme of coincidences - we ran into friends of DH's at the gates of Edinburgh Castle. They and we had been living in a small town in rural Australia, and male friend had been in the US studying for 12 months. And met up as we were leaving, and they arriving at a particular location in Scotland!
