Used This on Annoying Coworker
(1/1)
BeagleMommy:
Today was my university's annual Administrative Professionals Luncheon. I've gone to it every year, but this year I just didn't want to go so I RSVP'd "No". Annoying Coworker came to my desk around the time of the luncheon (I've used all caps because she never speaks below a shout)
Annoying Coworker: COME ON!
Me: Where?
AC: THE LUNCH FOR SECRETARIES!
Me: Oh, I'm not going. Enjoy yourself.
AC: WHAT!!! WHY AREN'T YOU GOING?
Me: It's just not possible.
AC: WHY? IT'S FOR ALL SECRETARIES!
Me: I know, but it's just not possible.
AC: YOU HAVE TO GO!
Me: It's an invitation not a summons.
She had other people to sit with so I don't know why she was making a big deal of this. Just more of her weirdness, I guess. I think I did well.
jayhawk:
Perfect! Sounds like she's never considered the possibility of passing up a free lunch, regardless of the reason! I really, really love, "it's an invitation, not a summons." :D
Black Delphinium:
Very nice.

POD to all of that.
