To be fair, drugged out weirdos are very high on the list of rational explanations used to deflect attention at the start of many fictional zombie outbreaks. Not just zombies, either - "Street gang on PCP" was the stock official explanation for many incidents on Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Honestly, I'm kinda with her on this particular case. Zombie outbreak might be the most rational explanation, crazy as that is.

I have more than a couple of friends following that case with excessive interest. They're with Ninja.

My gaming group has been doing a zombie campain for awhile now; on Sunday night, when that news hit, I had the extreme pleasure of solemnly announcing "Guys...it's really begun" because it was basically how our game had started!
Perhaps that belongs in the "humor me" section...we all had a really great laugh, but it was like those camp stories where it's late, everyone's tired and now...maybe...the story could be TRUE...

Oh, and just in case anyone wants to mention it to the guy in question, Time and Life were both weeklies, so there are four different "June 1954 Time Magazines" and 4 different "July 1967 Life Magazines"...I don't suppose anyone wants to mention that, just to blow his mind?
And yeah, my facebook friends list has been having fun with the Florida icident too.
