Office rest room etiquette- Vent
« on: January 04, 2007, 03:09:20 PM »
Ok, I am at times very busy during the day and so when I go to the ladies' room I am in somewhat of a hurry.  But twice, TWICE, recently I have walked into the rest room and found someone (two different people actually) relieving themselves with the stall door partly open.

Thankfully, I didn't actually SEE anything but they were obviously right in mid-"business" when I opened the door and they reached out and grabbed the stall door to close it.

Come on, people... it does not take that much time or effort to pull the door and turn the little wheel to latch it.  Or to wash your hands afterward, by the way, before you go out and touch the fax machine, copier, coffee pot, etc.  Ew.  Just ew.

Vent over... thank you  :-X

Okay, ew.  Just ewww.  I always lock the door, as I don't want anyone accidently walking in on me...I would feel pretty uncomfortable accidently seeing my coworker using the restroom, too.  Blech.

I always feel like *I'M* the one doing something wrong when I walk in on someone!  It's so embarrassing!

I have already posted about my office rest room issues (cell phone calls) but I feel your pain.

Unless the lock was faulty I would always shut and lock the door! That is just so odd that someone doesn't have the 1 second it takes to do the lock. weird......

I wish I wouldn't look like a pervert if I brought my camera into our ladies room cause I would take apicture of my nice sign. I composed and posted a sign about how you need to check that the flush actually took all the stuff in the bowl away......... The flushers work, people just weren't  using them at all!!!!!  I just thought I created a very polite sign given the nasty circumstances.

And no, you really should not flush a tampon down the toilet!!!!!

Sad that grown women can be so lazy and gross at the same time.

We had a single restroom in our store that was in the office. I mean, you opened the bathroom door, boom you're looking at a toilet. And it was right there facing the main entrance to the office.
My manager was walking into the office one day and there was a very large, very dirty woman making a number two in the bathroom while smoking a cigarette (not legal in Fla to smoke in a retail store, BTW) with the door wide open. When Wayne reached out to shut the door she said "Y'all ain't got no light in hyeah". Uh, the switch is right by the door Kreskin....Wayne flipped it on, shut the door and fumed for the rest of the day.
There are people with no couth out there....
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....

eew that's gross! We have a woman on our floor (shared bathroom among 4 suites) that has disgusting toileting habits.  I wont get too graphic, but she doesnt wash her hands, when she REALLY should.  I have witnessed this several times.  I ALWAYS use a handtowel to open the door, and every so often I douse it with a lysol wipe from our office (I also dont trust the cleaning crew, who let a backed up toilet sit for 4 DAYS (yes you read that correctly)!)

I am grossed out just thinking about it.

Even if the lock is faulty I position myself to hold the door closed!  Good heavens, have a little decorum and close the door.  I like to have some privacy in a public restroom, even if it is only a polite fiction!

I actually wish the tampons made it into the toilet in our rest room.  I frequently see the used applicator sitting on top of the TP dispenser.  Now who the heck wants to pick THAT up and throw it away when you aren't the one who used it???

I once worked in an office that was split level.  The support staff (all women) were on the upper level, and the sales staff (all men) were on the lower level.  There was one restroom for the women, and it was located on the lower level, and the door opened to the sales floor where all the men's desks were.  This was a single room restroom.  You open the door and there's the toilet and sink.  No stalls.

It was so uncomfortable when any of us had to use the restroom.  There was absolutely NO privacy whatsoever.  They pretty much knew everything that went on in there, and we heard them joking about it.  One poor girl had to do a #2 very badly, and was in there for quite a while.  Even though she used the spray and had the fan on, when she opened the door, well ... you know.

It was horrible.  Most of us would rather walk a few blocks to the building down the street and use their restrooms than use the one in that office.

Retail mall bathroom rather than an office bathroom - but there was a used maxipad on the floor in one of the stalls, "blood" (or something similar in color) on the floor outside in the common area, a teenager rinsing pink coloring out of her hair in one of the sinks and getting the pink water all over the place, and a small child wanting someone to come in to help her with her clothes (mother or babysitter had two young kids and the large handicapped stall was occuppied).

It was enough of a nightmare that I went looking for a mall office to report the blood/sanitary napkin - but didn't think to mention the pink hairdye...........I figured that would be found when the janitorial staff got there.  The dye wouldn't be a bio-hazard.........
