Stop being a doormat!

I am, as many on this board, addicted to the stories on the main Etiquettehell page.

Do you ever find yourself yelling at your computer screen? Or is it just me?

Say no! Why did you put up with that?!  Get out now!

Honestly, there are many "stories of woe" I have no sympathy for because the people writing them let others walk all over them.  The martyr syndrome is such a huge pet peeve of mine.  Don't let others run roughshod all over you and then whine to me about how unfair it is.  Stand up for yourself!

Grant it, I am not referring to stories where people were blindsided, they have sympathy.  But it seems quite a few stories are full of red flags and rude behavior, and people just put up with it and whined later.
"POCKETS!"  From the new Dr. Who, "Runaway Bride" extra geek points if you laugh.

I'm the same way, I find myself going ballistic. Like the story on the Classics page about the bridemaids who weren't allowed to bring their dates? I'm sitting there thinking "Why not give them the boot??" It was sad, but at the same time that bride needed some starch to stiffen that upper lip!
I have finally found the bar I can't get thrown out of....
