Sudden change in a subject header
« on: May 28, 2012, 01:48:05 AM »
I started to read this thread: http://www.etiquettehell.com/smf/index.php?topic=116272.0;topicseen "Shower Etiquette Question - If you don't agree with a shower what are the rules?" and the first response to the original post is headed "Re: So, Does Mental Health Trump etiquette?".  Then it switches back to the original header for the following post.

The first reply's body fits perfectly in the thread, it's just the header that seems to have gang agley.

If the respondent edited the header, my apologies for reporting it as a glitch.

Well, that is positively fascinating.  I have no idea why it did that.

You can change the header.

You can change the header when you reply, like I did above.

I wonder if the OP changed the title after the first reply?  I wonder if the So meant Spin Off?  And then the OP decided to make her title more descriptive?
I have CDO.  It is like OCD but with the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be.

As the first respondent, no I didn't edit the header! :)

I thought the OP changed the title. People who respond to the post before the change will have the old title, afterwards they will have the new title. But it would usually say it has been edited and it doesn't! Very strange. ???
You are only young once. After that you have to think up some other excuse.

Oh, I know members can do that.   But Blue2000 doesn't have a history of doing that so it's a glitch I have no idea how it occurred.

Ah, gotcha.  It's probably as previously suggested then that maybe the thread title was that to begin with and then the OP changed it.

Moderators can merge two topics into one which I assume will show two different thread titles throughout the thread, too.   I have never done it but I know Geek has a few times.
