Carmina Burana - O Fortuna ( a lament for canned fish )

When i was much younger and had a very good soprano range, I sang in a classical choir. One of my favorite concerts was Carmina Burana. It was in Latin and very moving.

I found this animation on youtube .... I will never be able to listen to it straight again :)

In college the choir loved doing this sort of thing.  O Fortuna was a classic.  They also massacred a song from The Pirates of Penzance.

'A pair of socks, a pair of socks
A very dirty pair of socks...'

Then there was the Star Wars theme.

'Star Wars! The theme from Star Wars
Sounds just like 'Born Free' played upside down...'

The new lyrics have stuck and I was singing mightily into work today.


I like the cheese, hot temperate cheese, green chalk tasted just like HIPPIES !


of course make room for Caaaaaakkkkkeee!

Classical Mondegreens! I love it!

My dad taught me some lyrics to a song we used to sing in choir, "Silver Threads Among the Gold:"

Darling I am growing mold
Silver threads among the mold
Slime upon my brow today
The body you can cart away.

Then there's the lyrics DH's friend taught me for "Scotland the Brave..."
