We had a reused gift box in my family that made the rounds for almost 30 years.  It actually got to be a holiday game.  When the Christmas morning phone calls were made, the question always was, 'Who got the box this year?'

It was great fun because both Mom and Dad's sides of the family were in on the joke.

BTW, when unwrapping our Christmas gifts, we save the bows and put them in a decorative bowl on the coffee table.  They make a nice decoration for the rest of the holiday season.

My siblings and I are all adults, and fortunately always manage to make it back to my mother's house for Christmas. My mother designates one bedroom as the gift wrapping room, where she keeps paper, but more importantly bags and boxes. We take turns going in there to "wrap" our presents on Christmas Eve.

Then on Christmas day, we open up the gift bags and boxes, fold them back up neatly, then deliver them back up to the gift wrapping room, so we can use them again next year.

That's a neat idea, mbbored, but wrapping all the presents Christmas Eve? My poor tree would look so sad and lonely all season! Nothing better than presents under the tree. :)

I was dropping off my dog at day care this morning, when I saw an overly battered gift bag on the counter.  It was long past reusability in the human gift giving realm but worked great as a doggie lunch bag!
