Bacon and water? Wow!

Ms_Cellany:
I forget where I saw the video, but holy cow, is this the way to cook bacon!

* Put bacon in pan. Add enough water just to cover.
* Put burner on high.
* When water starts to boil, turn heat to medium.
* When water evaporates, turn heat to low. Cook until done.
The boiling water renders out a lot of the fat, and starts the meaty portion cooking without burning. When the water evaporates, there's plenty of melted fat to cook things evenly.

And it's fun!

SamiHami:
Interesting...and it still comes out crispy? If so, I will def try this next time I make bacon.

Nice and crispy, and evenly browned, with no burned hot spots.

Luci45:
Is there any spattering at the end? (That's why I don't cook bacon.)

Tierrainney:
Never tried this method, I just started cooking all my bacon in the oven so I don't have worry about grease splattered all over my stove top.

I might look into this one, too.
