S/O Classic movies you don't get: Performers you don't get
lkb:
Mrs. Pilgrim : Thank you for saying the Kardashians! When I first heard of them (when their show was on), my first thought was, "why is there a show about the lizard people on Star Trek?" I haven't heard anything about them yet that makes me change that thought.
I agree wholeheartedly on most of these, especially Tom Cruise and Madonna. (The thought of Tom Cruise singing the songs of my teenage years will keep me far, far away from Rock of Ages.) Madonna? The only song I've liked of hers was "True Blue" and that was because of the home-made video made of it that won an MTV contest. (Her video of the same song was rotten.)
Another nominee -- Kristin Chenowith. I want to like her, I do, but somehow, I just...don't.

POD Jim Carey and Adam Sandler, and I'll also add Ben Stiller to my list. They're just not funny to me. Frustratingly, they've probably all been in at least one movie I like (I love The Truman Show, for example) but for the most part their appeal goes right over my head.
BB-VA:
POD on the Seinfeld cast (and the show). The day after the final episode, when someone at work told my boss and me the ending (everybody goes to jail), we looked at each other and almost simultaneously said, "What took them so long?" Just arrogant, rude, obnoxious people.
Jim Carrey can be very good if he has a director that will rein him in. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often.
Will Ferrell is another who seems to have a deal with the devil. Haven't seen a thing that he was really funny in.
Ben Stiller can be quite good - I really like the "Night at the Museum" movies. But in most of his movies he is just too over the top to be funny,

The phrase, "vapid expression" immediately brings to my mind, Tilda Swinton. She's got the same, slightly vapid expression every time I see her.
And yeah, George Clooney. He doesn't act, he just mumbles words and looks like he's in love with himself.
The Kardashians sort of remind me of the Gabor sisters in the 60s. Splashy famous for who knows what and always getting married and divorced.

Wow – I am amazed to see pretty much anyone and everyone I don’t “get” already on the list, so I’m just going to list them all, even if they’re all repeated!
Leo DeCaprio
Alec Baldwin
Tina Fey – she’s really not that funny to me
Charlie Sheen
Any and all of the late night talk show hosts, just because I don’t think they’re funny at all.
Jim Carrey
Tom Cruise
Glenn Close – but only because I hated and despised her character in Fatal Attraction and if I see someone in something and can’t stand their character, I’m done. I know she’s talented but I can’t take her anymore.
Julia Roberts.
Angelina Jolie
While I don’t consider them celebs, ANY and ALL of the Kardashians
I second and third the cast of Seinfeld; more whiny and annoying than funny
Adam Sandler – see above
For that matter, any of the recent SNL cast members, of the Adam Sandler-era and after.
Beyonce
And now a few I don’t belive have been mentioned:
Billy Bob Thornton – Blech. He just looks dirty to me
Lindsay Lohan – so talented in her younger days, but now just a train wreck
Ashton Kutcher – I don’t get his appeal
Donald Trump – oh so full of himself
Gilbert Gottfriend – the voice, that’s all I have to say
Paris Hilton
Jessica Simpson
I’m sure there are more, but this is all I can come up with now.
