Should I say something?
RebeccainGA:
I have a coworker, M, not in my department but one that I deal with regularly, that I'd call a coworker+ - not quite a friend, but pretty darn close. She sat with me during DP's mastectomy, and takes me to lunch occasionally (her way of repaying the favors I do for her and her department on a semi-regular basis), but we don't socialize outside of work often.
She says, occasionally, that she 'owes me lunch'. We'll even set a date occasionally, in advance - and the day of, we usually volley a few e-mails back and forth about when we're leaving, where to go, etc. Tuesday of this week, since DP and I are moving in a month, we had a little dutch treat gathering at a local restaurant - they have two for one drinks and fajitas on Tuesdays, it's convenient for most everyone, etc. It went very well - we had about 15 people there. In the course of it, M says "I need to take you to lunch on Thursday - I owe you, and it'll probably be our last chance!". Ok, sounded good to me.
Now, because of DP's disability and the condition of our half-packed house, I go home for lunch every day to make sure she has food. Not going home at lunch requires planning. I planned today to not go home (had leftovers and sandwich stuff easy for DP to handle available). We normally go to lunch at 11-11:30. I have even e-mailed with M today - about something non-lunch related. No mention of lunch plans as of 11:15am. Should I say something?? Wait until later and go get lunch on my own??

I'd shoot her a quick email and just say, "I had us marked down in my calendar for lunch today. Are we still on?"

This.

I wouldn't ask IF lunch is still on. Just call and say "I'm ready! Where shall I meet you?"

I wouldn't do this, as CW+- is the one paying for lunch and it sounds a bit pushy. I would go with what PP suggested. If she doesn't get back to you in time (I'm not sure if you have a set lunch schedule), I would take myself to lunch and write it off as she got busy and forgot.
BTW, happy moving!!!
