I told DH that I want the helmet replaced with a comparable one. His friend is buying my new helmet (same make and model, new design) today. :)

Cool beans!

Or should I say chilled legumes?  ;D

Edited to be intentionally cheesy. ;)

Very happy ending.

A helmet is a personal thing . . . like the size of your jeans or bra. You can't just replace it with any old thing. The rider/owner needs to be comfortable with the fit.

Nice update!  He's buying one for himself, too, right?

FYI his motorcycle insurance may have clause for gear.  Mine covers $5000 in gear.  He might want to talk to his insurance agent.

Loved the update and the way people explained how to look at the situation. And the insurance info was helpful to me, because a friend is in a similar situation.
