Fantasy Dinner Party
« on: August 10, 2012, 10:11:34 AM »
The threads on favorite fictional characters and favorite historical figures sparked an idea for a new thread.  Admittedly, this is a spin-off of an old Steve Allen show, 'Meeting of Minds'.

If you could invite a few of your favorite people, alive, dead or fictional, to a dinner party, who would you choose?

I'd pick...
Nellie Bly
Willard Espy
Mark Twain
Hermione Granger
Irene Adler
H. L. Mencken

Barney Fife and Thelma Lou

I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.

My dinner party will be a potluck.
Cimorene from the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, because I really really want to try her Cherries Jubiliee.
Vlad Taltos from Steven Brust's novels, because he's figured out how to replicate the dishes from his favorite restaurant.
Gordon Ramsey, well, because he's Gordon Ramsey.
Julia Child, because I love French food.
My mom, because she's going to have to make her salmon cakes.  She gave me the recipe and they don't come out right when I make them :(
