Hokkien Noodle Recipe?
« on: September 03, 2012, 02:09:49 AM »
Hi!

I'm in need of a tasty hokkien noodle recipe! I just bought some, but the recipe I made last night wasn't all that crash hot - the noodles were liimp and soggy, and the whole thing tasted oily. I didn't use much oil but also didn't use much sauce.

It will be for herbivores but I'm very quick at "translating" meat dishes into vegetarian, so anything you have would be great!

Thank you  :)

None myself but there is a great blog by Jaden Hair who does pan Asian/fusion and it always looks really yummy.

Are they at all similar to yakisoba?

My mom used to do a regular stir-fry (onions, garlic, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, peppers, etc) and then toss in the noodles with the water and seasoning at the end. You can put the noodles into some warm water to soften while you stir fry.

They look similar, they're a wheaten, yellow/white thick noodle! The only other name I could find for them was "mee"noodles.

Might give the stir fry a whirl, thanks!
