And YOU are in Human Relations???

New here and had to sign up just to have a place to vent about these kinds of things.  I work in a graphics business and just had a man come in here to place an order for a banner for a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day event.  This guy was a member of the Human Relations Commission and I have never encountered someone as jerky as he.  He wanted my opinions on the banner and every opinion that I gave was greeted with a complete eye roll and an exasperated "That's NOT what I want."  When I would ask what he wanted I was told "You're the professional, you tell me."  Oh I could have told him what needed!!!      Complete Jerk!!  Then he starts griping about the committee that wants all this done and how they've never had these GD signs before and never had to have a GD banner and all this other GD stuff.  I was thinking "Oh how The Reverend King would be so impressed that YOU were handling this event."

I would be so tempted to give him some scratch paper and crayons, and told him to have at it, he could do it himself then.  But I know that's not good customer service  .

He probably didn't want to be there making said banner, so he was in a negative frame of mind and woulnd't have been happy with even the most beautiful banner on earth (which is probably what your suggestion was!).  What a grump.  Let's try to chalk it up to him having a bad day, with maybe the possibility of him preferring the money was being put towards things other than a banner, which is why he was grump about being there.


Edited to add that nothing excuses his GD'ing though.
