I spent most of the night writing. I was very proud of myself!

Then I woke up and realized none of it counted because it was in my sleep.

And as I scrambled to get something down before it all flew away, it hit me--It was all crap. My subconcious is crazy but I don't know if anyone wants to read the disorganized and illogical craziness that it gave me last night.

Oh dear... I just had a brilliant idea for a completely different novel last night. Now I can't stop thinking about it, and I really want to plan and write it. I also suspect that it will be a far easier story to write than my current one (YA paranormal, versus Literary Fiction).

However, I don't want to give up on my current story. I feel I should plug away at it, and save the new idea until after NaNo is over...  What to do, what to do?

If you plan on editing the one you're writing now, you can do that next month, and when you can't seem to focus on editing, you can write the new one!

Also, put down the plot bunny into a notepad file and into a folder of "Future Plot Bunnies" or just "Plot Bunnies".  So you can come back to it the next time you want to write a story.

When in doubt, write porn! I churned out about 3000 words of pure smut last night. Absolutely nothing plotworthy, but fun nonetheless! Maybe my characters were just happy I wasn't putting them in another life-threatening situation.

I managed to get another 1500 words out yesterday, but it felt like I was writing in mud.

Two of my minor characters have completely hijacked my plot. I am actually enjoying writing about them more than I am writing about my main characters.They are more fun and less angsty. Oh well.

I.... skipped a day. Oh well. I had been up for nineteen hours so... I came home and crashed. Heh.

I'm still ahead (though not as far as I wanted to be ) and I'm beginning to falter. The bulk of my plot is over (way faster than I thought it would be). I missed Wednesday and Thursday this week, and today looks like it's not going go too well either.

I still have a lot of plot to cover, but it's not that easy to write, and I'm not feeling very motivated. There's some more research to do as I go along, so maybe I can at least do some of that today.  I am trying to write the 'must have' 1667 words per day, and so far I've been good, but it's not that easy at the moment.

There still are giant plot holes that I need to fill somehow, but that might be something to do during the editing process rather than now...

So, technically, I've won due to the word count goal.  However, my story is far from done.  I'm not even at the first climax yet - that gets written today - but it's a lot harder to push yourself to keep going after hitting 50K.  This is my third time going for a larger than 50K goal and I hope that I make it.
