Anyone know how to speak Italian?
« on: October 10, 2012, 01:34:09 PM »
I would like to translate something rather colloquial into Italian.

Many times we musicians tell each other to "rock!" or similar.

I would like to say either "Please rock"  or "please bring the rock"

I am assuming that "rock" or "Rock n roll" is the same in English as in Italian

What I have so far is "Si prega di Rock!"  I believe that translates to "I beg/pray you, rock"  which I like better than per favore

Any comments from Italian speakers here?

If I remember correctly:

Please rock = Si rock

Please bring the rock = Si prega di portare il rock
Hand over the chocolate and no one gets hurt.

Opera singers have an old tradition of wishing luck for performances by saying "toi toi toi!"  Not quite the same as rock'n'roll but a fun tidbit to know :-)
