Do they even make plastic bags small enough to pick up butterfly poop?   ???

I know it's rude, but I would have burst out laughing.

It seems someone does... http://www.irisong.com/product/minigrip.htm

There are times when "people's creatures' doings" can, understandably, be found distasteful, and action should be taken -- but, butterflies ?!  The conclusion might be reached, that some folk are victims of a "cosmic clerical error" -- they were meant to be born not on Earth, but some place "far elsewhere", on which no life-form needs to eliminate bodily waste.

I have heard some cray cray neighbor requests in my day, and that is a brand spanking new one.  Congratulations to your friend, I have never heard that one before.

I actually googled the exact phrase, "Clean up after your butterfly."  The ONLY hit was for ehell.  It has got to mean something if a  complaint is so unique that it isn't in Google (beyond this thread).

AND

Arlene and DH were curious, so did some research and found that butterfly poop consists small yellow dots of liquid.  So if you're in the Orlando area and see a small yellow blob on your window, it must be Arlene's fault. ::)

I am laughing so hard right now!!

I'm in Virginia, but butterflies can fly and stuff, so I'm going to need her number, too!

Columnist Gene Weingarten calls that a "Googlenope," a phrase or sentence that doesn't get any hits in Google (until it gets published as a Googlenope, of course).    :)

I knew there was a phrase for it (I read Gene too) but couldn't think of it!  Thanks for reminding me!  LOL

Or keep the butterflies indoors where they would learn to use teeny tiny litter trays.  Letting you butterflies roam the neighborhood is just reprehensible.  :o
Ask for what you want. Let's be clear on this one:
Subtle hints don't work.
Strong hints don't work.
Really obvious hints don't work.
Just say it!

She needs to keep her pet butterflies in her yard. Maybe even on a leash.

:D

OK, I'm just kidding. But this thread is hilarious.

I should not have read this while drinking coffee.

Keeping free roaming butterflies is irresponsible. Not only do they make messes on other people's windows but they can also be hunted down by birds or end up on a car window. For shame!

This is the funniest, craziest, head-scratchingest thread I've EVER read! Thanks, Barensmom, for totally making my day.

Whenever I think I'm dealing with a stupid, inane request, I will count to ten and think about Arlene's poorly trained butterflies.
