Arlene and DH were curious, so did some research and found that butterfly poop consists small yellow dots of liquid.  So if you're in the Orlando area and see a small yellow blob on your window, it must be Arlene's fault.

Uh, no, Baren wouldn't put up with that, much less a butterfly.

Much as I would love to be able to use that on my daughter's two Chihuahua girls, they would flee in abject panic at the sight of me sticking that under their bitty dog behinds....  Being able to pick it up once it's down and out, so to speak, is more functional to me, since both of them tend to move while pooping, so it's NEVER in one tidy pile!

I think you should go round, all serious, and insist the only solution is for her to install teeny tiny litter trays on her windowsill. You should insist on helping her fit them, of course...Insist that all your butterflies are of course house-trained, so any that continue to poop on her window are clearly stray or feral butterflies. It if therefore her duty to contact the Butterfly Warden and have them all rounded up.

I also love the idea of butterflies on tiny collars and leashes!

And now the question would be... do feral butterflies bite? Would they attack her when she goes out in her backyard? Viciously maul her tulips or frighten her cats?? That's much more dangerous than butterflies that haven't been properly litter-trained!

(BTW I'm claiming When Butterflies Attack as my alternative band/movie/book name!)

This story is so hilarious, DH has been sharing it with friends who still ask for updates.  I'm surprised that Butterfly Poop has not shown up as a trending topic in Yahoo or Google.... or has it?

FYI; Feral Butterflies definitely bite. She should basically stay inside the house during daylight hours to be on the safe side...

I spoke to my sister this a.m., and she says she won't be seeing Arlene for at least a few months.  She is under instructions to ask Arlene for an detailed update.

Ok, I know this thread is older but I was reading an article on MSN this morning about weird crimes with a price and was reminded of this thread.

In Pacific Grove, CA molesting butterflies carries a $500 fine.  So, the next time she threatens the butterflies, counter that you will call the cops and turn her in for butterfly molestation.
