I don't need hugs, but I can definitely use some good vibes!

The good news: after 19 months of unemployment, I actually have a job interview tomorrow. Based upon the phone interview I had today, I suspect the job will be mine as long as I don't do something stupid during the interview..

The bad news: I haven't interviewed for a job in a long, long time...I am a nervous wreck! It's just so important that I get back to work and I keep thinking if I blow this, who knows when my next opportunity will come up. We are still getting by financially, but if I don't start bringing in some $ it's going to get bad soon. As it is, Christmas is going to be very lean.

So, friends, can I get a pep talk? Some good vibes?

What have you got? Is it food? Is it for me? I want it whatever it is!

Sounds like you have loads of nervous energy but pretty happy all the same. Maybe a good long walk and some deep breathing might burn some of it of and clear your mind for a bit. Once you get into the interview I am sure you will be fine, it's the anticipation that sends me a bit loopy.

Same for me, SamiHami. (My interview is Monday.) Just remember that they will be fortunate to get you! Go in there knowing you are the best thing they can have. Perhaps you might want to do some meditation or affirmations using something like "I love my new job!"

I got the job! Okay, it's not my dream job and the pay isn't fabulous, but it's full time and has health insurance, and I got a happy vibe from the people there. So, finally, after all this time I am going back to work!

Yay!

Amara, I'm sending my good like vibes to you. Let us know how it goes Monday!

Congrats!  There is a lot to be said for a steady paycheck, medical insurance and a staff that (mostly) gets along.

Yipee! My job isn't my dream job either, but a. my health benefits cost me next to nothing b. my 401K plus additional match is fabulous c. I get 6 weeks PTO and d. they are extremely flexible about time off, working from home, etc. So while I could go elsewhere and make more $$, I might not have all those perks.

Yay!!  Congratulations!

Sometimes all those other things you mentioned are better than having a slightly higher paying job with 'mean' people!  I'd always rather work in a fun and relaxed environment than at a higher paying job that drove me nuts and made me miserable.  So double yay!!

I'm so happy for you.  I know what those long dry spells feel like and it is awful.

I've never knitted anything I could recognize when it was finished.  Actually, I've never finished anything, much to my family's relief.
