I love it on crumpets, but I also like crumpets with honey or peanut butter, DH insists that vegemite is the only thing worth having on crumpets.

PB is my favourite on crumpets.  I'm not a big honey person.

Vegemite need butter under it on toast or english muffins or else its too dry, because it doesn't 'melt'.

Marmite goes well with raw vegetables.  Now it is back  on the shelves, I dip carrots and celery in it, and have a low calorie snack.  If you are making a beef pie try adding a tsp of marmite.  My daughter loves it under cheese in a toasted sandwich, and my husband adds a smigeon to baked beans.

Makes me wonder how on earth we survived without it.

Noooooo! You never have vegemite on crumpts, they are for sweet things like jam or honey. English muffins or toast for vegemite. (Can you tell I have a thing about that)

Ok, I'm getting some crumpets later so DH and I can have Vege in them.

I also have had crumpets with cottage cheese. Yum!

OK, I bought a jar of Marmite at the grocery store last night after reading this discussion and had some on buttered toast this morning for a midmorning snack.  I wasn't sure I'd like it--I'd tried Vegemite once about 15 years ago and I think I might've used too much then.

But 1/2 teaspoon of Marmite on buttered toast = perfect!

Add some slices of thinly sliced tomato for true perfection

Tried this today... and POD!  Thanks for the recommendation!

P.S.  This Marmite stuff is addictive!
