I'm glad you got it resolved. I was going to suggest that another tactic might be to say, "It will be hard on the Hawk." And the detail how little time he'll have for sleep, and how much he'll sacrifice in order to provide a nice visit for her.

Most of us moms can't resist the appeal that says "in your child's best interests."
