DH just bought himself the Codex Seraphinianus - I discovered it when we were in college, but copies cost several hundred dollars and I had to get it interlibrary loan, so we never got a chance to really delve into it.  The book is a travelogue on an alien world, but it's written entirely in a made-up language.  It's got tons of beautiful fantastical drawings, and it's fun to just puzzle out.  DH found a copy on Amazon for half of what it usually is, and he got a Christmas bonus this year at work, so I told him to go for it
