Re gifting to mom, right after I get it.

     This one is going to sound a little strange. I'm in town visiting my family for Christmas. I gave mom the same gift she gave me.
      My question is, is it stupid tacky and rude to re wrap it and hand it back to her w the explanation of what we are doing?

I wouldn't re-wrap it, but seeing as this seems like a situation everyone is happy with I don't think it's rude or tacky.

It's a know-your-audience sort of thing.  From what you write here, I think it would be ok, but I would not re-wrap, just give it to her with thanks and explain why.

To me, this doesn't count as a re-wrap.  It's a really nice gesture!  If you have time today, you should run out to...well, just about anywhere (including Walmart) and get her some K-cups.  Then wrap, and when she opens them and says she doesn't have the machine, you could have some fun with that.

After reading the thread, I doubt that the 're-gifting' would be considered a cast-off.  The OP appreciated the gift but the logistics of getting it home was a major problem. 

Also, Mom wanted one so, why not make it a win-win situation.  I DO like the idea of an excursion to buy extra pods.
