A mobile car mechanic.

I am just wondering if anyone uses one.

They come to you, no tow needed or driving to the garage.  Any experiences?

I am asking because I am expanding my "easy for us"  list.

I do most of my own work on my car, and what I can't do requires equipment that couldn't be transported easily, so I've never used a mobile mechanic.  I do, however, know several people that have used them, and the general consensus is that they're like any other type of service person.  Some are good, honest, decent, hardworking individuals, and others are scammers or lazy or simply bad at what they do.  I would give you the same advise I would give anybody looking for any type of service person: ask for references, ask friends, shop around.

My hubby had one look at our car ( a vectra )to replace a radiator. He did a good job (it was fiddly as the hosing went under the engine) , it was on the upper edge of what we were looking to pay. He was good in that he pointed out a few problems that were about to crop up that could be fixed at home.
