Is Sriracha also known as Sambal? 

Yes and no.  I think they are made by the same company.  Sambal is thicker and can be scooped out of the jar with a spoon, it also has more of the seeds left whole.  Sriracha is thinner, completely pureed and only comes in the squeeze bottle.

Sambal doesn't add much flavor, just heat.  Sriracha adds flavor and heat

Sambal is the chunky version. So sriracha is to sambal what pepper salsa is to hot sauce.  Not exactly because salsa has tomatoes but a similar concept. One (sriracha) is a sauce while the other (sambal) is a relish... and sambal in my experience is much hotter.  Great for cooking though!

The last time I was in there, I asked them if they sold it in bottles or jars, and the cashier (who also happened to be the manager) said this had been discussed several times.  Then he gave me about 100 of them....just for asking, I guess!

On mayo, this is one of the few things where I'm brand specific.  It has to be Best Foods (Hellman's).  I've tried generic and it's ghastly.

I used to love Horsey sauce till around the early 90's. Then I moved where there were no Arby's and when I had some in the 2000's it seemed like it wasn't the same as I remembered.  More mayo-ey and less horseradish.  It just seemed a lot more mild then I remembered.  Maybe my tastes had changed. Anyone else think they changed the formula?

I don't know if your tastes have changed, but I've always thought it was pretty mild, especially when compared to other horseradish sauces I've had.

I like horseradish, but it can't be too strong. If they did change it, I'm glad for it.

Ooh, there's so many. Sambal Oelek (I buy it in 500g jars), sesame oil, my home-made mango chutney (seriously - that stuff with tostones is out of this world), Branston pickle, Kikkoman soy sauce, chipotle Tabasco, homemade green tomato chutney...
